We, creators of AI
Artificial Intelligence is neither a matter of new tricks nor a fad that will pass as we, humans are judge and party. However, if different disciplines working in AI move fast, the societal impact of AI and the societal impact on the progress in AI may move in various paths and at different speed. In this context, the University of Amsterdam, in the frame of ERC=Science² (an EU-funded campaign aiming to promote the research funded by the European research Council), gathers researchers from different fields, innovators and citizens alike, with the objective to stimulate an exchange and debate around today’s concerns, threats, negative effects …. and opportunities for humanity during the event ‘We, creators of AI’ at 14 March 2019.
The program is twofold: first, ERC grantees are invited to deliver a presentation of their research project funded by the ERC. Second, a panel discussion will be held in which the societal impact of AI will be discussed with the ERC grantees, other researchers and the audience.
We are looking forward meeting you on 14 March 2019 from 17:00-19:00 at Science Park for a two-hour lively debate. For signing up or for further questions, please contact Denise Haar – van de Wetering (firstname.lastname@example.org).
