Science communication workshop for ERC grantees at ESOF
ERC=Science² is pleased to invite you to attend our Professional Development Workshop devoted to research communication skills, which we are organising during EuroScience Open Forum (ESOF) in Toulouse on 11th July 2018.
We know that as an ERC grantee, you are focusing on your research, but communication activities are also an important part of your project. ERC=Science² wants to support you in developing high-impact ways of disseminating the insights and evidence to come out of your scientific endeavours. On 11 July we are organising two workshops devoted to communication strategies and skills for ERC grantees: from 10.30 to 12.15, and from 14.00 to 15.45. Among the key take-aways from each workshop will be a high quality, 2 minute synopsis of your research for various stakeholder groups. You will also learn how to use questions and props to engage different audiences, how to avoid overly technical language, and how to use body language to make your presentation more compelling. The workshop will be delivered by Wendy Sadler, MBE from Science Made Simple. Wendy is a science communications specialist, and has worked as a Strategic Advisor to the ERC=Science² project since its early days.
The workshop is going to take place at the University of Toulouse (Room MC 204, Manufacture des tabacs, 21 Allée de Brienne, 31000 Toulouse).
