Science communication training for ERC grantees at ESOF
ERC=Science² is pleased to invite ERC grantees to a science communication training we are organising during EuroScience Open Forum (ESOF) in Toulouse on 11th July 2018.
We know that as an ERC grantee, you are focusing on your research, but communication activities are also an important part of your project. ERC=Science² wants to support you in developing high-impact ways of disseminating the value and effect of your research, which is why on 11 July we are organising two science communication training sessions for the ERC grantees: from 10.30 to 12.15, and from 14.00 to 15.45. Each of the sessions aims to help you develop a 2-minute public-friendly speech about your research. During this 105-minute workshop you will learn how to use questions and props to engage different audiences, how to avoid overly technical language, and how to use body language to make your presentation more compelling. The training will be delivered by Wendy Sadler, MBE from Science Made Simple. Wendy is a science communications specialist, and she has been advisor to the ERC=Science² project since its early days.
The training is going to take place at the University of Toulouse (Room DR017 – Maison de la recherche et de la valorisation, 118 route de Narbonne, 31000 Toulouse).
