Science café in Gdynia, Poland

EXPERYMENT Science Centre in Gdynia will host ERC researcher Ewelina Knapska, Head of Neurobiology of Emotions Laboratory, Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology

Dr. Knapska’s project (CoSI - Functional connectomics of the amygdala in social interactions of different valenc) aims at understanding how the amygdala, the brain structure playing a primary role in processing of emotional responses, controls socially transferred positive and negative emotions. Dr. Knapska was awarded with ERC Starting Grants 2016 as one of the 325 early-career researchers throughout Europe.

The Science Café will be held in a conference room close to the EXPERYMENT Science Centre , and will be based on the meeting with the scientist. An EXPERYMENT representative will make a brief introduction of the ScienceSquared project and the role of the ERC in the crucial and cutting-edge research in Europe. After that a short lecture by Ms. Knapska will follow, enriched with a video and some photo content. The audience will have a chance to take part in open discussion concerning the most crucial and interesting questions.
