17:00 - 18:30 Discussion on “AI & Robots – the future of the labour market” in Curiosity centre ZINOO

Opening: Musical band consisting of 3 robots playing 3 musical instruments, and Latvian musician Gundega Graudina’s opening performance, thus provoking discussion.

  • Moderator: Mr. Pauls Irbins, director of science centre ZINOO
  • Participants: Ieva Siliņa, Chairwoman, Association of Latvian Young Scientists
  • Karlis Goba, developer at the company TILDE, virtual assistants and machine translation products,
  • Researcher from the Riga Technical University in the field of AI/ Robotics

Open space — free microphone for visitors of ZINOO to join the discussion any time

 

March 7, Thursday

12:00 possible meeting with the Association of Latvian Young Scientists

13:00 - 16:00 ERC=Science² stand with interactive content about significant ERC funded researches in the field of Artificial Intelligence will be placed at the Riga Technical University.

14:00 - 16:00 ERC outreach presentation at the Riga Technical University for students presented by scientists of the ERC funded research BUCOPHSYS, Andrea Bisoffi and Alexandros Nikou, from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden.

 

March 8, Friday

9:00 - 16:00 Thematic day for schools, pupils and their teachers at Curiosity centre ZINOO

Pupils from primary schools of Riga will have very special workshops on “Artificial intelligence and robots in our labour market.”

Three hand-on workshops will be run by ZINOO experienced facilitator Ansis Rezgalis. Pupils will be given an introduction about the ERC and AI using LEGO MIND-STORM sets.

Pupils will have a chance to construct the robot that might take over human tasks in the future. They will be using LEGO MIND-STORM sets.

 

An ERC=Science² area with roll-ups and the interactive tablets will be available at Curiosity centre ZINOO for pupils, teachers and the general public to visit.
